SPICED FRUIT CUSTARD
Spiced Pear Custard

Ingredients:
1 tbsp butter or ghee
2 small pears, thinly sliced or diced
2 egg yolkis
1 egg
1 1⁄4 cups pure cream
1⁄3 cup rapadura or raw sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
1⁄2 tsp nutmeg
Pinch cloves
Method:
Don’t be deceived by the look of this baked custard, it is definitely not an aesthetic recipe but it super delicious!
You can use any seasonal fruit and leave the spices out if you want more of a plainer taste.
Preheat an oven to 180C.
Heat a pan with some butter or ghee and fry the pears until they get some colour. Add to an oven proof baking
dish or separate ramekins.
In a bowl, or blender, add the eggs, cream, sugar, vanilla and spices and mix. Pour over the pears and bake in the
oven for 20-30 minutes or until the custard is set.
You can either serve it warm, or allow it to completely cool in the fridge.
