WHY MOST COLLAGEN POWDERS ARE BOGUS
I want Love ya guts to be the gold standard of supplements.
That means that if I am not happy with a supplier or feel in my gut something is off, I will go to the absolute end to figure out why and the find the BEST suppliers for you.
Our collagen is no different.
Most collagen powders today are rubbish! Have really low absorption, claim to be Australian and are not. Have added sickly sweet flavours to make them addictive and are processed with Sulphites... which does the complete opposite to what therapeutic collagen should do.
We had a collagen powder that was Australia sourced early 2025.. but in my gut I knew something was not right.
I wasn't the only person so frustrated with the collagen industry. Another company Jivita also sent off more than 23 collagen samples to get third party tested. She included ours:
What was tested?
- The molecular weight, which in short measures the absorbability of the collagen
- Identify which performs best
- heavy metals, PFAS and grass-fed claims.
When I saw the results, I was shocked at where our collagen stood but then realised she got an early 2025 batch tested... not our new supplier we switched to 2026. This quickly led me to get our new collagen tested. I have shared the results with Jivita and also below.
Below are the images of testing from Jivita and you can see that our OLD collagen ranked middle. Which isn't good enough in my books. BUT our new collagen tested NUMBER ONE!
Now, I had my new collagen powder tested by the exact same place she got them tested, so that the results wouldn't be biased. This is the table of results that are needed to calculate the optimal absorption </= 5000DA %.
When calculated our Optimal absorption: </= 5000 DA is 31%
This places us at the top of the list.
Another range was tested which you can find on her website ours also placed NUMBER 1 on this also.
